Is Edible Oil Produced by Oil Extraction Method Safe?

The process of producing edible oil by oil extraction method is an advanced and scientific oil production process that has long been recognized and widely adopted internationally.

The extraction solvent used by China's oil and fat industry is a special solvent specially produced for oil processing, which is essentially different from ordinary gasoline.

The Chinese national standard for residual solvents such as n-hexane in edible oil is that it must not be detected. The n-hexane used by oil extraction method must be food grade. After heavy metal removal treatment, the residues of harmful metals such as lead and arsenic are all less than 10ppb (one billionth). Such low residues will not harm the produced oil.

The maximum temperature for removing solvents is only 110, while the desolventizing temperature of edible oil produced by subcritical low-temperature oil extraction method is only 40, which is far from the temperature for the generation of trans fatty acids. No matter whether it is produced by oil pressing or oil extraction method, as long as it meets the quality and hygiene standards of Chinese edible oil, it is safe edible oil.
